Gareth Emery & I
My favorite DJ is Gareth Emery. I was a fan when I heard Exposure on A State of Trance and I became an even bigger fan when I had the luck to meet him at his show at the Ministry of Sound the first Friday in London for holiday.
Ministry of Sound – July 10, 2009
This is the first time I met Gareth Emery after following him on Twitter. I was heading to London and he suggested I show up to his set at the Ministry. Little did I know his set was at 3:30AM! After his set, I waited by the DJ booth to snag a moment with him. The security guard was nice enough to let me in and I got to meet him, hug him , talk to him and get a picture with him. I know, I look ecstatic. I told him I followed him on Twitter. This was a the start of a great DJ/fan relationship. Heh.
Vanguard Hollywood – October 10, 2009
My second time catching Gareth and he recognized me from London (I assume) and being a Twitter follower of his. He signed a personal autograph for me that says “Keep on Twittering.”
I saw Gareth again at Rain Nightclub at the Palms Las Vegas on January 2, 2010. There was an event that I got my boyfriend and my sister to enter so we could win the chance for free tickets to the event. When the winners were announced, I didn’t win. I jokingly complained to Gareth that the event was rigged so I couldn’t win. He replied back to my joke. Eric oddly had a dream that I actually won. A week later, I got an email from Adam saying I won. Coincidence? I like to think it isn’t, but chances are it is. After Gareth’s set I missed him by like a second. I’m sure I would have been able to get his attention but he was being whisked away and I didn’t want to intrude. I think his girlfriend, Kat, was with him. 
Avec Nightclub – 03.04.2010
We made the drive to see Gareth at Huntington Beach and it was worth it. He spot me trying to get close to him when he was signing autographs and taking pictures. He was awesome enough to make sure I got a moment with him. He’s another picture and I got another autograph that I have pinned on my board.
Circus Disco – 03.06.2010
While being right in front I’m sure Gareth saw me. At the end he signed autographs and then came over to where I was standing to say hello and sign more autographs. I gave him my sharpie as he said he needed a pen. He came down the stage and of course I snagged another picture. He even took the opportunity to basically introduce himself to Eric. Eric was caught off-guard with the friendly gesture. We still talk about it today. Gareth Emery is really awesome, and I hope he stays connected to his fans always.
